Breaking Boundaries and Raising the Bar: Reflections on Two Years Working on The Graph

I can't believe it's already been two years since I started my incredible journey at Edge & Node, working on The Graph. Time has flown by, and as I reflect on this milestone, I can't help but feel grateful for the valuable experiences I've gained along the way.

Growing up in India, I was often taught to stay within my boundaries and not challenge the status quo. Sharing ideas was seen as inexperience, and breaking free from that mindset was never easy. However, from day one at Edge & Node, I was encouraged to think outside the box, challenge myself, and share my ideas. Not only that, but I was also given the freedom to build my personal brand and explore new avenues. Starting a podcast and taking ownership of projects to deliver high-quality work independently became a reality with the unwavering support of my team.

Edge & Node embraces the notion that innovation and progress thrive outside of comfort zones. Being part of a company that values innovation and collaboration has been truly empowering. Collaborating with a diverse group of individuals, each with their unique perspectives, has been nothing short of inspiring. I have witnessed firsthand how these differences foster breakthrough ideas and pave the way for remarkable achievements.

One aspect that has stood out to me during my time at Edge & Node is the remarkable helpfulness of my colleagues. Whenever I faced a challenging problem or needed guidance on a project, there was always someone ready to lend a helping hand. This culture of collaboration and support has made all the difference in my experience at Edge & Node.

Over the past two years, I have learned far more than I ever thought possible about system designs, engineering values, and the mindset required to ship products. The learning journey continues every day, and I am grateful for the countless opportunities to grow and develop my skills.

Being part of a team that is always seeking new ways to improve and innovate has been immensely inspiring. At Edge & Node, we constantly explore cutting-edge technologies and approaches to solve complex problems. The passion for pushing boundaries and delivering excellence is palpable, and it fuels my own drive to excel.

Above all, the highlight of my time at Edge & Node has been witnessing the protocol's remarkable ability to bring about what feels like a miracle—the flourishing of a decentralized network. The coordination of sophisticated engineering with the principles of decentralization is truly extraordinary. Choosing to build a decentralized protocol over an easy, centralized SaaS option is a testament to our unwavering belief in the principles of decentralization and our long-term vision. I am incredibly proud that The Graph ecosystem has remained steadfast in adhering to the core values of web3.

When I first joined The Graph, it felt like being a kid in a candy store—so many exciting things to work on! The team was on the verge of launching the decentralized network and expanding the hosted service to index more chains.

Since then, we have achieved significant milestones. We successfully onboarded, indexed, and served queries for 40 blockchains through the hosted service. Additionally, we launched the graph network, enabling decentralized queries for over 900 subgraphs. Our journey has been filled with numerous accomplishments, and I am proud of what we have achieved.

Looking back, I am filled with pride and excitement for what lies ahead for The Graph and the entire web3 ecosystem. The future holds immense potential, and I am eager to contribute to its growth and success.
