Announcing Rodrigo Coelho as the New CEO of Edge & Node

We’re thrilled to share that Rodrigo Coelho has officially stepped into the role of CEO at Edge & Node. Rodrigo’s leadership marks the next step in our unwavering mission to build, innovate, and empower the decentralized future. Having been with The Graph since its earliest days, Rodrigo embodies the pioneering spirit that has carried us through every market turn—bear or bull—to this very moment.

Before we look forward, we want to recognize Edge & Node’s previous CEO, Tegan Kline, for her remarkable leadership and dedication. Under Tegan’s guidance, we successfully navigated the Sunrise—a pivotal, large-scale initiative that decentralized data across The Graph ecosystem and cemented our place as a cornerstone of the web3 movement. Tegan’s ability to spearhead such a complex undertaking will forever be part of The Graph’s DNA. After completing the mission, we are passing the baton and empowering an early team member—someone Tegan and the original founders have worked with since day one. Tegan will remain on the Edge & Node board in The Graph ecosystem.

Carrying the Torch Since Day One

Rodrigo’s journey began in the late ’90s, when he co-founded an application development shop at a time when Netscape and Internet Explorer reigned supreme. His Industrial Engineering background and hands-on engineering chops helped him build solutions for Fortune 500 companies, forging a deep appreciation for what technology can achieve at scale. After founding and exiting two additional tech startups as CEO, Rodrigo’s path led him to a serendipitous meeting with Graph co-founder, Yaniv Tal in 2017 at a co-working space in San Francisco. Sharing a vision for how blockchain and decentralization could reshape the internet, Rodrigo soon became the very first hire on The Graph and later, Edge & Node.

A Deeply Rooted Web3 Vision

Rodrigo’s passion for web3 extends far beyond simply building useful tech; he believes that decentralization holds the key to unlocking global innovation and access. Under his leadership, Edge & Node will continue to expand the capabilities of The Graph, fueling a Cambrian explosion of dapps and tools for generations to come. By doubling down on R&D, community empowerment, and robust partnerships, Rodrigo will ensure that Edge & Node and The Graph remain the backbone of web3 infrastructure—no matter the market conditions.

Leading Through the Bear Markets and Beyond

Throughout the ups and downs of the crypto landscape, Edge & Node and The Graph have remained steadfast. “We’ve built through bear markets with the same passion that sparked the project at its inception” says Coelho. Rodrigo approaches every challenge with a hands-on, mission-driven ethos, seamlessly adapting to diverse needs—whether building infrastructure, streamlining processes, or empowering communities.

A Roadmap for Cambrian Growth

Under Rodrigo’s leadership, Edge & Node is laser-focused on unleashing the full power of subgraphs, indexing, and decentralized infrastructure. From  new features on The Graph’s technical roadmap to evolving global community initiatives, we’re positioning Edge & Node and The Graph for exponential growth. “As the ecosystem expands, we’ll continue to prioritize developer experience, education, and world-class support—key ingredients for empowering the next wave of web3 projects,” says Coelho.
