We're seeking a highly motivated manager for our Business Development / Partnerships team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for web3 and a strong grasp of The Graph. This role requires driving network growth, prioritizing team success in completing quarterly goals and targets, and leveraging a strong network within both blockchain and traditional industries. Preferred location is within the United States time zone, but we welcome candidates from anywhere.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and oversee the BD + partnerships team, including creating individual development plans and taking ownership of new business and growth initiatives.
- Work closely with the CEO to develop and execute business strategies for both Edge & Node and The Graph’s mission.
- Help manage top accounts utilizing decentralized network queries and convert hosted service users into Graph Network users.
- Oversee the education process for new dapps on how to migrate to the network, ensuring a seamless experience throughout.
- Proactively lead strategic account planning for key clients and serve as an escalation point for performance issues, collaborating across the organization to exceed client expectations.
- Facilitate successful resolution of any client solution, performance, or operational issues.
- Continuously assess, clarify, and validate client needs, translating them into actionable plans.
- Define department objectives (OKRs) and set departmental strategy, ensuring alignment with client needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to provide proper support for client initiatives. If a feature is needed for a user, pushing for that feature internally.
- Play a pivotal role in extending The Graph Network's presence by forging partnerships with qualified chains throughout the web3 ecosystem. Innovate and execute strategic business development initiatives to bolster The Graph Network's global presence and gain net new users.
- Great at public speaking to help build Edge & Node and The Graph’s brand
What We Expect
- Previous experience working in Partnerships or Business Development within the web3 ecosystem
- Ideally 5 - 10 years of working experience, strong track record of managing mid-sized teams, with a strategic and action-oriented approach. Ideally with past stints at Tier 1 VCs, startups, scale-ups, investment banking or management consulting.
- Able to liaise effectively across CEO, CFO, product and marketing functions, projects and teams - with a holistic view and understanding.
- Excellent communication and writing skills, including strong interpersonal abilities.
- Proven track record in successful sales, business development, and managing institutional relationships. Minimum 8 years in a high-volume sales/BD role.
- Detail-oriented and data-driven, with strong problem-solving and multitasking skills. Minimum 2-3 years management experience.
- Ideally builder and founder experience in web3 and working with blockchain protocols, foundations and companies, preferably in a business development capacity. Solid understanding of The Graph and relevant blockchain data infrastructure and technology.
- Proven track record of efficiently and amicably closing deals. Very good network in the industry. Able to open all doors.
Compensation/Culture
The overall market range for roles at Edge & Node is typically $100k - $500k annually. This market range is based on total compensation (vs. only base salary). Edge & Node has a culture that values meritocracy, personal growth, and an ego-free environment.
